How did you get started with Fitness/Bodybuilding and Youtube?

I got into fitness because I was always the fat kid at school and I hated that, after 6 months of mainly cardio and a silly low carb diet, I was lean but also very weak and small. So I decided to get into lifting and instantly fell in love with the process... like many people I became addicted to training and learning about nutrition. Every night I would watch training videos on YouTube (Including Gabriels) and learn new things! After around a year of training, I decided to start making my own videos.. what started out as just filming sets to check form / progression has turned into a huge passion of mine! aiming to provide the highest quality possible. whilst informing people about proper training and nutrition.

 

If you could give one piece of advice to anyone wanting to get into fitness and social media, what would it be?

Do your research.. get online and learn the basics of training, nutrition and Social media techniques early on, so that you are a step ahead! but most of all, enjoy the process 

 

Where does your motivation come from?

Sounds corny but my motivation comes from within, I know what im capable of achieving and that motivates me every day to push myself closer to where I want to be! 

 

What workout routine has worked best for you?

I have tried various splits and found that a push/pull/legs routine has worked best for me 

 

Full Example Workout Routine:

Push Routine 

Flat Bench press (Paused) - 5 Sets of 5

Incline dumbell press - 3 Sets of 12 

Over head press - 3 Sets of 8

Cable overhead tricep extensions - 3 Sets of 12 

Cable flys - 2 Sets of 15 superset with tricep dips until failure 

 

If you had to pick only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?

hmmm thats a tough one... NAAAAATTT - Squat, Bench and Deadlift. Compound movements that work various muscles. There should always be your base exercises when you first start training.

 

What is your diet like?

I follow a flexible approach to dieting, meaning that the majority of my meals are 'Clean' (I hate that word but we will go with it) and the remainder of my calories / macros are from whatever i feel like on the day. This has become a very popular way of dieting but its what I find most sustainable for my lifestyle.

 

When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?

Both! all depends on how much time I have, sometimes i throw in some low intensity cardio in the morning before work but if Im short on time then I will go for some incline sprints or a more functional style of HIIT. 

 

What is your supplementation like?

The only staple supplement that I use year round is Creatine. I use whey protein for the convenience and BCAAS when im deep into a cut but I dont rely on them.

 

What does "Being a TrueBeast" mean to you?

Always striving for more and putting 110% into everything you do
